David specializes in creating rhythmic conglomerate groups of women, the Holy family has stylized heads. His work, often leaving areas of untouched raw stone, have a compositional continuity that is both charming and appealing. He attempts to retain the integrity of the original shape of the stone itself, respecting the sculptural adage that the best stone sculpture is that in which the least amount of stone has been removed. Some pieces are almost crude in their execution; but they always have a delightful presence and completeness.
His designs are blatantly one-sided. He believes that his sculpture should be placed against a wall so that it can be seen but it doesn’t get in the way.
