Elias Sachino surprised us a couple of years ago by finding a way to actually carve Red Jasper, an incredibly hard material that has challenged artists for decades.The hardness of the stone prevents the inclusion of any great detail. This causes the artist to think in broad-form which makes each carving fundamentally more sculptural. The stone lends to creating the largest land animal on earth.
