Simple in its composition; but grand, proud and exuding an inner life and intensity, Ndebele Girl exemplifies his tremendous ability to transform hard stone into the softness of a beautiful young woman. The textures of the traditional hat are repeated in the necklace and armbands to create a visual vitality, breaking up the surfaces of her face and torso.
Butter Jade is a difficult stone to work with. Hard, brittle and full of impurities called unakite, a petrified vegetable material, Butter Jade challenges the fine artists that, courageously, choose to work in the stone from Manicaland on the Mozambican border.

The Crisson and Hind African Gallery is located in Bermuda and we have been in business since 1999. During that time, we have successfully shipped sculpture to our clients worldwide! We ship by DHL International and we pass on our attractive DHL rate to our customers. We use DHL box rates for our small sculptures and for the larger and heavier sculptures, we build custom wooden crates and this cost would be calculated in the final shipping cost.
